potential problems
Check all exposed hot and cold water pipes for leaks
Check all exposed drain lines for leaks
Check washing machine hoses for condition and leaks
Check outside faucets for leaks
Dye test all toilets for leak-through
Check main and shut-off valves
Check well system, pipes, pressure tank and pressure switch
ANNUALLY
For all water heaters:
Check for leaks
Flush out tank bottom
Check drain valve
Check temperature/pressure
relief valve
For gas water heaters:
Check for gas leaks
Clean and check burner and pilot
Check vent draft
Check vent pipes and connections
For electric water heaters:
Clean and check elements
Check thermostats
Check wiring connections
